about

Four years have gone since I began to work on my new album Altfeld. I was walking along a bridge in my hometown from where you have a great view of the rapidly expanding industrial district. There I had the idea of making music sounding like buildings, streets and machines.
A musically arranged metropolis.

From that day on I never left home without my field recording mic to study what urban life actually sounds like. I wanted to do a documentation. Something timeless that covers our emotions, our fears and passions. I like the idea that somebody listens to this album in an undefined future and immediately has a picture of our life today.

In the making of Altfeld I moved to Berlin which was a great improvement for this album. Night after night I got lost in this city discovering the never ending concrete. By this time a tangible concept emerged and Altfeld started to tell a story about living, about dying and all those things that matter (or doesn't) beyond.
